Shu qi, actress and model, born on April 16, 1976 in Taiwan. She has been an amateur model since high school.
 
In 1996 she moved to Hong Kong and starred in Wang Jing’s films, then won two awards —— the 16th Hong Kong film awards best supporting actress and best newcomer by the film "Viva Erotica", directed by Derek Yee.
 
In 1998, she won the 35th Taiwan film “Golden Horse Award” for best supporting actress with the role in the film "Portland Street Blues". Time magazine interviewed Shu Qi and pictured her on the cover of magazine in 2001. In 2005, she won “the Best Actress Award” in the 42nd Taiwan Film Golden Horse Award for “Three Times”. She served as a judge at the 58th Berlin International Film Festival in 2008 and the 62nd Cannes International Film Festival in 2009; in the same year, with "If you are the one", won “the Outstanding Overseas Chinese Actress Award” of the 13th Chinese Film Awards. In 2012, Shu Qi and Yu Wenle co-starred in the film "The Second Woman". In 2013, she starred in "Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons". In 2015, the film "The Assassin" was nominated for the main competition of the 68th Cannes International Film Festival and Shu won “the Best Actress Award” in the 10th Asian Film Awards.
